About Me

Sawadee ka!

Reflecting on our Cambodia & Hong Kong trip Rob and I were feeling inspired. Wanting to see more of the world and having truly realised you only live once, we made the big decision to move abroad. We weren’t particularly bothered where as we eventually want to explore all 7 continents of the world, whether that be through living there, traveling or just a holiday. We had a few options but ended with the decision of Bangkok; A city we had never been too, in a country we have also never been to. Are we mad? Probably. Fortunately after we broke the news to people we heard nothing but good things about Bangkok and after our Cambodia & HK trip we were excited about our big adventure. We came to this decision partly because it was the best job offer for Rob and a place where I could work too, but also because Bangkok is a great place to be based for traveling Thailand as well as Asia.

I should add that moving abroad was not an easy decision to make. There was a lot to consider; I enjoyed my job, we have family and friends we had to leave behind (there were some very emotional goodbyes), we had to give our much loved cat (Lola) away (although to very loving owners of whom I have no doubt will spoil her and love her as much as we did), and its a whole lot of stress trying to sort your life out and pack everything into one little suitcase. This journey is the most stressful and emotional thing I’ve ever had to go through, but I’ve no doubt we will love it and will be worth it in the end.

After some deliberation I’ve decided to continue my blog as and when I can to keep family and friends back at home updated with our big adventure!

Hola, Hei, Bonjour, Hello.

Thank you for visiting my blog and I hope you enjoy reading it! My name is Sarah and at the moment, I’m a novice traveler. As someone who has always been keen to travel I’ve finally planned my first backpacking trip with my boyfriend Rob, which (in case you haven’t guessed yet) will be documented here! I want to share my experiences with you as we travel around Cambodia & Hong Kong for 3 1/2 weeks over Christmas and New Year!

*In case you were wondering, no I cant speak multiple languages (at times I can barely speak English!) I just like to seem clever when I greet people (don’t we all?…)*

អានសប្បាយរីករាយ!

(^^^ Thats “happy reading!” in Khmer by the way… Apparently!)
